Issues

Before voting on any candidate, it is advisable to learn as much as you can about what this candidate believes.  While many candidates try to obfuscate these in order to appeal to the largest possible audience (as well as allowing them to imply promises that they aren't bound to keep,)  I have opted for an opposite approach.  I want the voter to know unambiguously where I stand, without resorting to slippery weasel-words full of loopholes.  They're usually not short answers, but they are realistic, workable, and flexible.

Many of these issues are "wedge issues", which have come to be a polarized litmus test between the dominant parties.  While they are often portrayed as being black-and-white, for-or-against stances, my answers on these issues are anything but.  Rather than accepting the pre-packaged solutions that are bickered over in egregious displays at the peoples' expense, I prefer to look for a third alternative that fits the values and concerns of the public on both of the "sides".  So, if you notice a conservative answer, don't be surprised if it's packaged with supporting liberal policies.  The reverse also applies.   The reason is that solutions are not the monopoly of either ideology; solutions should be based on reason, with the end goal always being the well-being and stability of our society.
